Do you ever wake up in the morning and think hmmm what should I have for dinner? and it doesn’t stop there, you think more about dinner all day long! Well I had one of those days. I thought about dinner since I woke up. It started with oats, then moved to something seasonal, then I though some soup and I ended up with Oats…
- 1/3 cup oat bran
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 banana
- Sprinkle of Walnuts and raisins
- 1/2 tbsp of Quince jam
The results were very satisfying.

I wanted to share with you the thoughtful Christmas present I got from my lovely husband. He bought me an assortment of props to help me with my new interest… Food Photography
So what did he buy?
Place mates, I had the Orange one so he bought me a few other colors in the same material and texture,

Some dishes,

and a beautiful Walnut cutting board,

and a very nice set of silverware which I need to take a picture of…..

I have been catching up with lots of blog reading, a whole weeks worth of reading. Thanks to both Anna of Newly Wed, Newly Veg and Suzi of Suzanne: Trying to maintain for the beautiful blogger award.

The way the award works, I have to tell you seven random things about myself and passed the award to seven lovely ladies….
1. My mom wanted only 1 child, and no more, I begged for a whole year for a little sister until she finally gave in, but then the whole time I was afraid I end up with a brother (she didn’t do an ultra sound). I was the happiest 6 year old when I finally got to have little sis on August 1st 1986.
2. I had a dog phobia all of my life until I met my husband. He is a dog lover so with his help I got over my fear and now own a beautiful English Setter that I cuddle with every night :).
3. The first day of Freshman year of high school I did not speak one word of English. It took me a year to be able to carry on a conversation and 2 years to be considered fluent.
4. I have had 3 accidents to my left eye. First grade I had a acetone spill into my eye, 2nd grade I was in line at the bakery to pick up bread and I was standing too close to the baker so when he was pulling out the bread out of the wood stove he hit me in the eye, 3rd grade I was running and turned around too quickly next to a tree and had a tiny branch break inside my eye… OUCH!
5. I was born in 1980 which is the year of Monkey. I am a big monkey lover… on my 24th birthday I celebrated my 2nd Monkey year.
6. I am the WVU Lone Star Alumni Chapter Co-president. I never attended the school and don’t have a degree from it… its just for the love of my husband.
7. My favorite Iranian dish is Gormeh Sabzi and just thinking about it my mouth gets watery, I can smell it and taste it.
I will pass this award to Kim, Gina, Gina, Katie, Christie, Emily, Brandi.
Sweet Dreams,

Congrats on the beautiful blogger award-you deserve it! And our similarities continue…I begged my parents for a little sis too but we are 9 years apart. I am absolutely terrified of dogs (traumatic childhood experience) but haven’t gotten over it. Ghormeh sabzi is my FAVORITE Iranian dish too (along with dolmeh) and ironically it’s the one dishe I can’t make
Thanks so much for the award!! That was sweet of you. Congrats on winning yourself, too
I LOVE your new kitchen stuff! The placemakes and the plates/bowls are all wonderful. I do have a secret obsession for placemats, and when Nick and I move into a new house I may go crazy decorating my kitchen and dining room…muahaha! The cutting board is fantastic, I have a similar one. Our kitchen is so small, however, I can never use it, as it barely fits on my counter with the other stuff!! I can’t WAIT to move.
Happy Holidays!
Aw, thanks for the award, you are too sweet!
And hoooray for all of those pretty new dishes and place mats, everything a food blogger could ask for

Hey Gelareh! Thanks for the comment on my blog. I am obsessed with your new dishes and placemats. I’ve been looking for a placemat for months now. The rainbow of colors would be perfect for my eclectic collection of dishes
Your poor eye! I’m surprised you still have it.
Love the placemats and dishes, super cute. I never thought about getting placemats for photos but that’s such a great idea!
Thank you for the award! I wonder if Steven loves monkies for the same reason (born in 1980)
I cannot wait to see all of your food photography! What a great gift! I love all of the dishes, especially the white ones!
